Kelly Ingram Park
A four‑acre historic park nestled between 16th and 17th Streets in the Civil Rights District. Once the site of iconic 1963 protests, it now features powerful sculptures, fountains, and interpretive signage along the “Freedom Walk.” It's an emotionally moving outdoor museum honoring the courage of the Civil Rights Movement.
16th Street Baptist Church
A still-active Romanesque-style church with deep historical significance—site of the tragic 1963 bombing that killed four young girls and became a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights Movement. Designated a National Historic Landmark, it offers guided tours covering its storied past and powerful legacy.
Birmingham Civil Rights Institute
A powerful, multimedia museum chronicling Birmingham’s key role in the Civil Rights Movement. Located in the Civil Rights District alongside 16th Street Baptist Church and Kelly Ingram Park, it offers a deep, educational experience through galleries and interactive exhibits.

Railroad Park
A beautifully landscaped urban park in downtown Birmingham, ideal for a relaxing walk, outdoor yoga, and seasonal events.
Alabama Theatre
A stunning historic “movie palace” built in 1927, the Alabama Theatre is Birmingham’s premier venue for concerts, classic films, Broadway shows, and special events. It retains its original “Big Bertha” Wurlitzer organ and seats around 2,176 guests in an opulent Mission/Spanish Revival setting. A must‑see for its grand architecture and vibrant programming.
Birmingham Museum of Art
